SUICIDE OPERA
DFW NOISE REVIEW

If you are looking for a face-melting metal experience, you owe it to yourself to check out the Suicide Opera. I saw them at Ridglea Theater and was blown away by the energy of the performance. Adding to that energy was the visual of blood-soaked faces which I especially appreciated. This is a band that focuses on live performance and knows how to control a crowd and give them exactly what they came for. After several line-up changes and name changes, the Suicide Opera is at the top of their game.

HARDER BEAT LIVE REVIEW

Suicide Opera - Ridglea Theater, 9-13-08

Suicide Opera had one of the largest audiences this evening, and they commanded it diligently. Nearly every song governed a mosh-pit that resembled a shark-feeding frenzy. "Just For You" and "Untied" plowed through the Ridglea Theater - testing its stability. The band's diabolically dark stage show was served with bloody members and ominous cemetery-like fog. If Slipknot and Devil Driver had a love child, the end result would be Suicide Opera. The only foe to the show was the meager thirty-minute time slot in which to play. Nonetheless, the message was received that Suicide Opera can deliver a true metal performance with the best of them.

HARDER BEAT CD REVIEW

Act One - Suicide Opera, Self-Released

This album challenges the soul of heavy metal. They incorporate a vision a bit different than most metal acts today, using keyboards for their off-kilter sound. Josh (guitar) and Jason (guitar) produce a myriad of fatal guitar riffs that can only be described as riff-tastic. As if Buffalo Bill had sewed them, David (vocals), Mikey (drums), Bobby (bass), Trent (keys), Jason and Josh are pieces that fit together perfectly. With an outfit made of armor, Suicide Opera could run a gauntlet unscathed and leave destruction in their wake, especially with songs like opening track "One Nation Under Fraud" and their self-titled "Suicide Opera."
